whew, time flies!

I knew it had been awhile since I last posted, but WOW, it's already been over a month. This past month has been incredibly busy- we moved out of our house and into my parents house, we sold our house, I turned in my Master's Research Project, I took my Comprehensive Exam for my Graduate program, we went to Anchorage where Rylee and Coven got their Low Dose Allergy (LDA) shots, we all got the flu, and, whew, was that it?!? Probably not.....so it has been eventful these past weeks, to say the least, but I sure do feel good now that so much is out of the way. I also just got a letter in the mail notifying me that I passed my Comprehensive Exam, yahoo! Now I just have three more weeks of class and then I receive my Master's degree; I am very excited! Among all this business, Ry's skin held up okay. He definitely started to flare with all the moving, cleaning, and unearthing of dog hair, dust, and dirt. We were very ready for this last LDA shot. I will post separately on what LDA is exactly, but just to briefly touch on it this was his 5th shot and two days after it, his skin was so soft, smooth, and clear. It was incredible. This shot really, really helped him, and then a few days later, he got the flu. He always gets flared when his sick and this bug really kicked his booty, he is finally over it, but it took 8 days. The first few days we were the worst, then he seemed fine in the morning, but by the afternoon, he'd puke once and then sleep for a couple hours. He hasn't puked or had diarrhea now since Saturday, so I think we finally passed that hump. It was his first time ever having the flu. He gets colds a lot and has had his share of sickness, but not the pukey, diarrhea flu...poor baby, he told me every day "I just want to feel better!" So now he finally does and he's pretty happy about that, as we all are! It's scary when your kids are sick. He stayed hydrated, though, and would eat in the morning, but by lunchtime, it made it's way out. It's hard when you have a child with allergies and there's not a whole lot you can give them. I tried to get him to drink coconut water, but he wouldn't. He sure liked the stuff before he was sick. So we stuck with apple juice, applesauce, and mandarins. I also boosted up his probiotic and added Vitamin C (Corn-free) to his juice. He ate some other stuff, too, but I tried to keep it as simple as possible. You could sure tell today he was much better, he ate so much, all day long! I think he put that pound he lost right back on, at least I hope so. We work so hard for those ounces, that losing a pound during this sickness is not very encouraging. Overall, though, his skin is much clearer since the last shot and I hope the flu didn't wipe the shot out because we could sure use a lot more good days! Now, I'll post about LDA.....
