Quick & Simple Trail Mix

We've been enjoying a ridiculously gorgeous summer in our parts; which probably doesn't mean much to those of you 'down South,' where the sun comes out regularly...but for us, it's a big deal! June is usually plagued with rain, rain & more rain. Lots of 40-50 degree days, & not a whole lot of summer inspiration. This year has been one of the nicest ever. It's been seriously amazing. Lots of days spent at the beach, walks to the river & just anything outside. Yesterday, we packed up some snacks & lunch for a beach day & I threw this quick & easy trail mix together. I do this fairly often, using a variety of ingredients, but this time, I remembered to take a picture & share some inspiration here on the blog. You could easily mix up the ingredients to whatever's in your pantry, or based on what's okay regarding your allergies, but I've found that as long as I include chocolate chips, the boys devour it.

Quick & Simple Trail Mix

a couple cups of cereal ( I used Van's Gluten-free Cinnamon Heaven)

a handful of raisins

a handful of chocolate chips ( I used Soy Dream brand)

a bag of dairy-free yogurt drops (Plum Organics brand, yes, they're for babies, but the boys love them!)

Place all the ingredients in a large ziploc bag & shake, shake, shake, until it's as blended as you'd like. Easy-peasy! You could also add nuts, I was going to throw some cashews or almonds in there, but Ella was too interested in it (& she's only one, so didn't want her eating nuts, yet); or add sunflower seeds, if those are tolerated. Enjoy!
