My very first post

So this is kind of exciting, my very first post. I decided to (finally) start my own blog, since I spend countless hours online reading other blogs about allergies and eczema. We are currently on vacation in Hawaii (much needed!) and Ry's skin has not made any improvements, it also hasn't gotten worse so that's always a plus! We were hoping the sun and salt water would heal him, but he won't touch the water because (a) wet skin = itchy skin and (b) the salt water really stings any open cuts. Overall, he is enjoying building sand castles, looking for coconuts, spraying cockroaches with water and feeding stray cats (yuck!). Last night we decided to start using hibiclens in the bath, tried it before along time ago with no success, but that was before starting yeast treatment. He is now been on diflucan for 7.5 months and it has really helped, but it has been a slow process (everything seems slow). I'd love to wake up and see him healed, but I think I have to face that reality, it's not going to happen, it takes time! Actually, I'd really love to sleep, since that is always something we get little of. The itching always gets bad at night and we really never know what to expect, for whatever reason sometimes he'll be up every couple hours, sometimes he sleeps six straight, either way it's exhausting! Coven has started pulling himself up and loves his new talent; he also thinks Rylee is the most amazing big brother. If Ry looks at him, Cove starts laughing hysterically. It really is incredible how much he already looks up to Ry. Every day with these two is an adventure and hopefully soon, the eczema won't be part of our daily routine. We do pretty well with the allergies and I hope to post some of the recipes we have created and found because some are really good! Coven's waking up, so I'm off....
