I came acrossthis mustard recipe recently and it tastes great and is easy to make. It was a bit too spicy for Ry, but I've sure been enjoying it. It's fun to add some different spices and sweetener, too, depending on what kind of taste your looking for. I'm going to try and make a honey-mustard dipping sauce soon, especially after making such tasty turkey nuggets yesterday!
1/2 cup yellow mustard seeds
3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup water
1-1/2 teaspoon organic cane sugar
spices*, to taste
Soak the yellow mustard seeds, apple cider vinegar and water in a glass mason jar for two full days. The seeds should soak up most of the liquid after this time. Place in a blender and add sugar and spices, to taste. Blend until it reaches desired consistency.
*I used 1 teaspoon sea salt, 1 teaspoon turmeric (to make it yellow) and 2 tablespoons agave and this was a delicious combination. Other to consider include garlic, allspice or honey. Let me know if you try something different that you like!
