Bleach Baths

This study came out about a year ago, about giving bleach baths to children with severe eczema. You're supposed to use about 1/4 cup of bleach. I was hesitant about it; okay, I hated the idea, but I really liked the fact that some kids' skin was clearing up, so we gave it a shot. That was last summer and it was awful, Ry's skin got way too dry, cracked open, and, of course, got infected with staph. Flash forward to now, we're giving it another shot. We've done it for a few weeks now, just a couple times a week, and more like an 1/8 cup of bleach. On the one hand, it seems like the bleach water really doesn't make a difference or may make him a bit redder, but it has really, really cut back on staph infections! We're going to continue trying it to see if it's worth it, in all honesty I don't like the idea of it, but I like the idea of less staph infections a lot better.
